Kite Island

Barnegat Bay is a shallow body of clean water with most areas waist deep. Famous New Jersey warm southerly thermal winds blow on average 2-3 times per weeks in May, June and July. Sailors launch at 68th Street (Bayview Park) in Brant Beach or at Harvey Cedars Park in Harvey Cedars. 68th Street is the preferred flat water launch for southwest, west, northwest, north and northeast winds. Harvey Cedars is excellent for Southwest, west, northwest and south winds.

Northeast, south and southwest winds provide excellent ocean sailing at 9th Street , Barnegat Light or 33rd Street in Brant Beach.
